The victims of a serious traffic accident that occurred last Tuesday on the elevated section of Avenida del Puerto, near the train terminal in Old Havana, which resulted in one fatality, also had some of their belongings stolen.

According to the testimony of someone close to the victims, who requested to remain anonymous, in addition to the loss of life and property, a theft occurred at the accident site.

The information provided confirms that the deceased person's cell phone and the money belonging to the injured driver were stolen from the scene while the emergency was still ongoing.

Additionally, this person specifies that the lights from a taxi may have blinded the vehicle's driver, which could have led to the collision.

Although the driver managed to exit the vehicle on his own, he claims he doesn't remember details of the crash.

A witness to the accident stated that it occurred when, allegedly, the small vehicle overturned after colliding head-on with the taxi in an area where "there is a stop sign for those coming from Agramonte," suggesting that lack of visibility and signage may have been a determining factor.

Another witness who passed through the area noted that "the polaquito was crumpled like a crushed soda can," while the taxi, although also affected, showed much less damage in comparison.
