Two young men wearing balaclavas and armed were the perpetrators of the robbery, during which they stole a motorcycle and a cellphone from the young woman.

"I kindly ask that if you see these items being sold, please notify #58913836 or 56905428. The photos include the details. Also, if there is anyone living nearby who has security cameras at home and would like to help, it would be greatly appreciated," Pupo requested.

"It is very sad the crime that exists in Las Tunas," she lamented in her post, which included photographs of the motorcycle and mobile phone stolen from her by the criminals, along with descriptions of their features. The young woman requested that anyone who is offered these stolen goods contact her.

In the comments on his post, several people reported that assaults have become frequent in that area and others in the city, following the same modus operandi, and that the police have done nothing to prevent them.

“It's already the third case of this in the same place. It’s not easy; day by day, everything is getting worse with scammers, thieves, and criminals,” warned a woman. Opinions like hers were echoed, highlighting the citizens' concern about the increase in violence and insecurity in the country.

Regarding the increasing number of electric motorcycle thefts in Las Tunas, last December, authorities pointed to owners as part of the problem, arguing that negligence in security measures significantly contributes to these crimes.

According to official data released last weekend, the total number of criminal incidents recorded in Las Tunas in 2024 exceeded those committed in the previous year by 1%, primarily due to increases in the municipalities of Majibacoa, Amancio, and Puerto Padre.

A report from the official newspaper 26 noted, however, that 40% of the crimes recorded in the province last year occurred in the capital city.

“The drug trafficking, murders, theft of cattle, and robberies with violence and force were the most committed crimes, in that order,” warned the newspaper, citing sources from the Ministry of the Interior (Minint).
