The Cuban content creator based in Murcia, Spain, known as @el.profesor.cubano on TikTok, has won over thousands of followers with a classic recipe from his island: creole-style pork steak.
In a recent video, the Cuban chef demonstrates how to prepare this dish with a very personal touch. The key lies in the marinade: sour orange, crushed garlic, salt, and pepper. After resting in the refrigerator for a few hours, the pork absorbs the flavors before hitting the pan.
The steaks are sautéed in a hot pan, releasing their own fat. Then, all the marinade juice is added, along with a bit of water.
The secret, according to the professor, is to let them cook almost until the liquid dries up. It is at that point when the meat begins to brown, and that's when the onion enters the scene: finely chopped and in abundance.
The result is a juicy steak, full of flavor and topped with caramelized onions that take it to the next level. It's perfect to pair with white rice, fried plantains, or even a good mashed potato. A simple, tasty, and very Cuban recipe.
