Limay Blanco reacts to a woman's complaint after giving her a house: "I will never expect a reward from anyone, but it hurts."

"To hell with the damn house that Limay gave me," the woman said to a neighbor of the comedian.

The Cuban comedian Limay Blanco, promoter of the Christian ministry Cristo cambia vidas, shared a video on his social media where he discusses a recent experience with one of the individuals to whom he provided a home as part of his project.

According to what he explained, a neighbor from the neighborhood told him that a woman who was looking for him with her son claimed to be one of the people who received one of the houses distributed by his ministry. "What a terrible house Limay gave me," is what the woman reportedly expressed, according to the testimony.

In the words of the comedian: “At that moment, I thought about knocking on the door and saying to him: ‘Look, you used to live here, come, stay here,’ and giving the house to someone else. But this thought crossed my mind: how many houses have I given away? 44. How many people have thanked me? Not that many, really. A voice came to me: ‘I healed ten lepers.’”

With that reflection, Limay referred to the biblical passage in which only one of the ten lepers healed by Jesus returned to express gratitude. “What is harder: giving away a house or curing a lifetime illness?” he wondered. He then concluded, “If that happened to Jesus Christ, what can I expect?” Nonetheless, he affirmed that he will continue to help without expecting gratitude in return: “The good thing about it was the lesson. I'm going to keep doing it; I will never expect a reward from anyone, but it hurts, it hurts.”

The video was posted on Instagram and replicated on TikTok, where it has generated numerous reactions from people who came to the comedian's defense and expressed their support for his philanthropic work.

On TikTok, a user wrote: "You feed a dog for a day and it thanks you for a lifetime; you feed a human for a lifetime and when you stop, they forget you the next day." Another follower commented: "You have a good heart. Blessings, brother, you have given me hope."

There were also messages of religious comfort: "God blesses the cheerful giver," "Do good and do not look to whom," "Christ was betrayed and never stopped loving," "Your blessings do not come from men."

Cuban singer Yulién Oviedo joined the reactions: "Cubans are the most ungrateful beings on the planet. Keep doing good, for the one up there places His children where they belong."

Limay, who no longer provides houses because some beneficiaries have sold them, and as a result people are no longer contributing money for this, has led the project Cristo cambia vidas for years, through which he has delivered more than 40 homes and various assistance to individuals in precarious situations across different provinces of Cuba.

In another case, he was struck by receiving help from a woman who, despite living in makeshift housing in the El Tamarindo neighborhood, donated food to another mother in need.

Currently, she continues her work through other charitable actions, such as organizing birthdays for vulnerable children. "It's three in the morning and I'm not sleeping. I want to give that baby a beautiful birthday," she stated in the same video.

Structural poverty and state abandonment

The cases handled by the Limay ministry reflect the growing precariousness of housing in Cuba and the expansion of slum neighborhoods like El Tamarindo, where families survive in homes made of recycled materials and lack access to basic services.

Instead of providing structural solutions, the regime has repeatedly chosen to carry out forced evictions, such as those that occurred in 2020 in Cotorro or in 2021 in the town of Jamaica, in Mayabeque.

Meanwhile, citizens like Limay Blanco continue to fill the gaps of a system that neglects the most vulnerable.
