A nearby area to the Miami International Airport has become a frequent scene for illegal gatherings of drivers performing dangerous maneuvers, according to complaints from residents and workers in the area. The Miami Police have intervened on multiple occasions, but the operations have not managed to eliminate the issue.

This Sunday, shortly after midnight, several patrols from the Miami-Dade Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of 72nd Avenue and 12th Street Northwest, where another illegal gathering of people and vehicles was reported.

Images released by Telemundo 51 show the moment when officers arrive at the scene as dozens of people begin to disperse. Some witnesses reported that they were evicted, although not everyone was involved in the activities.

The area, characterized by its limited nighttime activity and surrounded by businesses, is adjacent to one of the airport runways and features dead-end streets, which seemingly aids in the impunity of those involved.

On one side of the location, there is a well-known furniture store, whose employees claim to have witnessed several incidents. "Not long ago, there was an accident involving a motorcycle, and a person died," recounted a worker who preferred to remain anonymous out of fear of retaliation.

The videos show tire marks on the pavement, evidence of what occurred during the early hours.

This phenomenon is not new in Miami. It is a recurring issue that has been reported on several occasions by local media and persists despite the considerable fines involved.

So far, the Miami Police have not reported whether the operation this weekend resulted in any arrests or vehicles being impounded.
