A possibly armed man is barricaded inside a vehicle at a gas station in northwest Miami, prompting a large police operation and the immediate closure of several streets in the area, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Aerial images released by Telemundo 51 showed a significant presence of heavily armed officers directing their weapons at a car parked at a Chevron gas station, located at the intersection of Northwest 42nd Avenue and Northwest 11th Street.

So far, it has not been specified what caused the standoff or whether the individual made any specific threats.

The situation remains active and under investigation.

Closed streets for safety

As a preventive measure, the police have completely closed avenues 41 and 42 in the northwest, also known as LeJeune Road, between NW 7th and 12th Streets.

This closure affects a high-traffic area during working hours, so significant delays in vehicle flow are anticipated.

Authorities are urging people to avoid the area

Law enforcement has issued an alert requesting drivers and residents to avoid the area until further notice, as the operation continues.

There are no reports of injuries, and it has not been confirmed whether there are other individuals involved in the incident.

As of the time this note was written, no additional information is available.
