A Cuban starred in a surreal scene on Sunday morning in Palma de Mallorca, when after drunkenly crashing into a taxi, he claimed to be an agent of the FBI and confronted a witness whom he repeatedly referred to as “nosy neighbor.”

According to the local media Crónica Balear, the accident occurred around 4:15 a.m., when the man, driving an Opel, ran a “yield” sign on Rei Sanç Street and ended up colliding with a taxi traveling towards the Avenidas. The impact was so strong that the Cuban's car came to rest across the road, with the interior soaked in beer from the dozens of cans he was carrying.

The taxi driver, who was not driving at high speed, emerged unscathed and was the one who alerted the Local Police upon noticing the state of intoxication of the other driver. The breathalyzer test showed a result three times above the legal limit.

Far from showing remorse, the man tried to justify his behavior to the officers. He asked them to stop “focusing on these things” and to direct their efforts toward “catching those who steal or don’t contribute,” claiming that he “works hard and contributes more than anyone present.”

Upon seeing a witness photographing the scene, the Cuban insulted him and attempted to take his picture in retaliation. In that moment, he further astonished the police by claiming to be "American" and an FBI infiltrator in Spain, a statement that caused shock and confusion among those present.

The man insisted on recovering the damaged vehicle, but the officers informed him that it needed to be towed and taken to the municipal impound lot.

As of the publication of this note, the Police had not clarified the identity of the Cuban nor confirmed the authenticity of his incriminating statements.

Although no one was injured, he has been charged with a traffic safety offense and could face penalties ranging from imprisonment to a driving license suspension for over a year.
