A Cuban family from the province of Holguín experienced one of the most exciting moments of their lives when content creator Arteshada brought them a new television, the first one they have in their home.
“They always used to go watch the soap opera at the neighbor's house, but now thanks to Leidy, they won’t have to do that anymore,” commented the young woman in the video posted on Instagram, which shows the presentation of the gift and the family’s excitement upon receiving it.
The team was donated by Leidy (@1002leidy_laura), a follower of the influencer who decided to purchase it after learning about the story of Teresa and her family, who live in a vulnerable situation. The images show how Arteshada enters the humble home, talks with the family members, and helps them set up the television and its stand.
"We are going to give Teresa and her family a television… they have never had one in their lives," the creator explained at the beginning of the video, where she also shared that Teresa was ill and could barely get out of bed.
To complete the surprise, the young woman explained that the television came with a decoder box and a USB drive filled with movies and soap operas, until they can obtain the coaxial cable needed to receive the national channels.
The video touched hundreds of users on social media, who expressed their emotion and gratitude for the gesture. “Her telling him not to cry and me here in tears,” wrote a follower. Another commented: “This girl and the people who contribute to all of this deserve the world and more,” while many left hearts, applause, and messages of blessing: “What a beautiful gesture,” “You made me cry, finally that family won’t have to go to the neighbor’s house to watch television,” “Blessings to all who help.”
This is not the first act of solidarity from Arteshada towards the family. Days earlier, the young woman had published another video where she delivered basic donations: a charcoal stove, oil, light bulbs, chicken, charcoal, tomato puree, money, coffee, and snacks.
"Thanks to each one of you who helped me, I will never have a way to thank you more than to say tirelessly thank you and wish you the best in the world," the creator wrote on her profile.
Gestures like these have stirred a wave of empathy among Cubans, who emphasize the importance of such actions at a time when many families are facing difficult circumstances.
