The Cuban actress Belissa Cruz shared with her followers on Instagram that she suffered a fracture in a finger while participating in relief efforts in the eastern part of the country, which was affected after the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
Despite the injury, the artist assured that she continues to work on delivering the collected humanitarian aid and denied rumors about a supposed transfer to the hospital.
“I’m stopping by here to thank each and every person who has sent me a private message. There have been many. I’ve been trying to respond to everyone little by little,” Cruz began saying in her stories. “I am happy, I am grateful and blessed to see so many expressions of love and gratitude. It’s the least we can do,” she added.
The interpreter explained that her intention is not to receive recognition for the help she provides in the most affected areas, but to accompany those in greatest need. “This is really not about giving anyone a medal... It’s truly difficult to be here. Sacrificing your time, your health, everything. But it’s what has to be done, for all the people who are going through this,” she expressed.
Belissa also clarified the false rumors circulating on social media about her health: “There are false posts claiming that I was taken to the hospital due to dizziness and vomiting because I was very stressed, and that is completely untrue. I have never been taken to any hospital nor have I experienced any dizziness. We have been right here, steadfast, the whole time.”
Finally, he confirmed that his only injury is a fracture in a toe, but that hasn’t stopped him from continuing with his charitable tasks. “The only thing that has happened to me is that I have a fractured toe, but I’m here, with the boot. Yesterday we were working, and until I get to Havana, I won’t take action on the matter because I know what it involves.”

Alongside Teresa Padrón, Alejandro Cuervo, Ja Rulay, and other Cuban artists, Belissa has been providing assistance in the eastern part of the island, delivering donations that have been collected in Havana and Miami by the La Familia Cubana team.
