The Cuban community woke up this Wednesday to the news of the death of Manolín Vázquez, a sound engineer and YouTuber known for his podcast "Hablando Boberías", a space where he combined humor, commentary, and analysis of the dissident rap scene and urban music made in Cuba.

The passing, which occurred this Tuesday, triggered an immediate wave of messages expressing grief and disbelief on social media.

According to posts shared by users close to his circle, the news spread a few hours after Manolín published his latest video, which amplified the impact among his followers.

On Facebook, David Mederos mourned his death and described him as “the best YouTuber in Cuba” in his view, while also highlighting his work as a sound producer at Radio Mayabeque, and sent condolences to the family.

In the comments, the user themselves stated that Manolín “had suffered a heart attack”, although the official causes of death have not yet been confirmed.

Natural from Güines, Mayabeque, Manolín made his way in the ecosystem of Cuban creators through his charisma and a direct way of connecting with the audience, which allowed him to establish himself as one of the most followed voices in the discussions and controversies of hip hop and urban music.

In the comments on that same post, acquaintances confirm that the cause of death was a heart attack. Previously, the young man had suffered from Oropouche, but it is unclear if the death is related to that condition.
