The meatball is a ball of very well seasoned ground meat. Its size should be ideal to fit in a bite or two. Although there are various ways to make them, they are generally made from beef, pork, mixed meat, or fish, and there are even vegetarian variants. The word meatball is of Arabic origin (al-bunduqa) and means “the ball” and it is believed that this recipe comes from this region. We hope you enjoy this simple, but delicious dish.
Ingredients:
- 500 grams of ground pork
- 2 tablespoons of ground onion
- 2 tablespoons of ground chili
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or ground biscuit
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 onion
- 1 chili
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2/3 cup of peas
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of dry wine.
Salsa
Instructions:
Mix the meat with the onion, chili, salt and pepper. Add beaten eggs and crushed bread or crackers; Stir everything well, shape them into meatballs, coat them in wheat flour and fry them in hot oil until golden brown.
Prepare the sauce: sauté the chopped garlic, onion, and chili in the hot butter, add the other ingredients and stir everything well.
Place the meatballs in the sauce and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes.
This dish is ideal to accompany with white rice or mashed potatoes.
