Vice President of the European Parliament demands that the Cuban Government release Ferrer

The vice president of the European Parliament, Dita Charanzová, demanded that the Cuban authorities release the opponent José Daniel Ferrer, in support of an international campaign promoted by Cuba Decide in favor of José Daniel Ferrer and other political prisoners, detained for more than one hundred days. .

The Czech diplomat published on her account Twitter a video in which he makes the same demand that he made last November the europarliament through a resolution.

"My request is the same," said Charanzová on the social network, while mentioning that there are other cases like Ferrer's on the island.

Jose Daniel Ferrer and other members of UNPACU are detained in the Aguadores prison, in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba, accused of causing injuries to another citizen. For this reason The Prosecutor's Office asks for 9 years in prison for the national coordinator of the Cuban opposition party.

Members of UNPACU reject the official accusations and assure that it is a manipulation by the government to prosecute a prominent political opponent for alleged common crimes.

There has been no lack of national and international support for his case, cHilenos demonstrated in front of the Cuban embassy in this South American country and figures such as Luis Almagro, Secretary General of the OAS, have joined the "100 days, 100 voices" campaign for Ferrer's freedom.
