Cuban detained in Miami for trying to burn his partner during a religious ritual

The subject is accused of the alleged crimes of attempted murder, arson, and aggravated assault, among other charges.

Osvaldo Morejón, a 41-year-old Cuban resident in Miami, was arrested and remains behind bars for trying to burn his girlfriend alive in the middle of a religious ritual.

Morejón is accused of the alleged crimes of assassination attempt, arson, and Aggravated assault, among other charges, according to the channel AméricaTeVéCanal41.

On January 23, in the middle of a religious ritual, Morejón began throwing objects and took two knives, with which he threatened to stab his girlfriend 40 times. In addition, he threw the woman on the bed and doused her with alcohol.

He then set fire to his partner, although she did not suffer major burns. The police went to the scene and arrested the Cuban.

At the moment, other details of the event are unknown. The nationality of the Morejón couple has not been revealed to the media, nor the religious ritual they were practicing when they decided to attack her.

Last Friday it was learned that Damián Calixtro, arrested in Bradenton, Florida for killing his wife six months ago stabbed, he was also Cuban.

Calixtro, 47, murdered his wife Amara, 38, on July 8 in front of their 8-year-old son, in the apartment where they lived, after she told him she wanted to separate. So far the authorities have not reported when the trial will begin. The defendant remains in the Miami-Dade jail without bail and faces a charge of second degree murder with a weapon.

Likewise, last November, a surveillance camera recorded the moments of terror that a woman experienced in her own home, in North Lauderdale, when she was allegedly burned by her boyfriend. The man, identified as Neo Jiménez Cortéz, was captured by the police and placed at the disposal of the judge, according to reports. Telemundo51.
