The Cuban Government tried this Monday to reduce tensions between the island's health sector after it expressed its dissatisfaction with theaccusations by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, who blamed doctors for the crisis in hospitals.

The doctors have responded to the official that theyThey are not responsible for the situation in hospitals, where there are no medicines, no medical supplies, or oxygen to care for Covid-19 patients, in the midst of a growing contagion.

After Saturday more thanabout twenty doctors from Holguín will publish a video Asking for labor improvements, and respect for their work, the government has tried, through various channels, to appease the sector's discontent, vital to overcoming the health crisis.

President Miguel Díaz-Canel posted on Twitter his "gratitude" to those he considered "our heroes."

"What we have seen the most in this time is the patriotism of our people, of the Health personnel, the scientists, of all those involved in the millimeter operation of oxygen, people who are working full time in complex situations. Thank you all! !", public.

In tune with the president's message, the director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap), Dr. Francisco Durán, began his daily morning conference with a message in which he congratulated the Health personnel for being "battling at the foot of the canyon "since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

For her part, the deputy prime minister of the island, Inés María Chapman, praised the work of the doctors and young medical students in the hospitals of the province of Holguín, where the twenty doctors who published the aforementioned video reside.

"Thank you to the health professionals," posted Chapman, who also mentioned the students, many of whom have complained about the limited means of protection they have.

"Our young doctors committed to their time, to the Revolution, to the country. Thank you, united we will continue to advance," he said.

Despite these efforts by the leaders to ingratiate themselves with the doctors who are addressing the health emergency in the country, dozens of Cubans, including several doctors, have criticized the government for its treatment of the crisis.

"It's late Inés, the screw-up was big, just as she made up her profile photo, she tried it with an isolation center. #SOSCuba," posted an Internet user.

"Your message is really late, Minister. Mr. Marrero should ask for his resignation, be reprimanded and removed from his position as Prime Minister. Thank you," said another.

"Put aside the titles, the careers, the good life and get to work, no more photos of obese guayaberas," said a Twitter user in clear reference to the privileges that officials enjoy, regardless of the shortcomings of the Cuban people.

"What level of decadence in the PCC, the bourgeois class of today's Cuba where only that small group enjoys good medical care with all the resources and without any type of shortage while #CubaDies without conditions in the isolation centers and hospitals #DownwithCommunism" said a woman.

In Díaz-Canel's post the messages are similar: "Bringing oxygen to a sick person is not patriotism, it is humanity. Do not politicize the chaotic situation of Cuban health. It is a shame that a “medical power” today does not have medical supplies, medicines, oxygen, funeral cars, or ambulances. You are totally inept."

"Your cynicism already exceeds the limits, I ask you DÍAZ-CANEL: Are you making fun of the people? What patriotism are you talking about? The networks have been announcing for more than 5 days that hospitals are collapsed due to the lack of oxygen and medicines," or "Patriot of shamelessness, cynicism and blackmail," are some of the comments left on the ruler's profile.

Cuba is currently experiencing the worst peak of the Covid-19 pandemic with more than 9,000 cases daily and hospitals collapsed due to lack of personnel, medical supplies, medicines and vital oxygen to save patients.

Morgues are also overwhelmed in several provinces due to the increasing number of deaths, according to network reports, and the regime has had to dig mass graves for the burial of coronavirus victims.

The lack of medicines and poor management of the pandemic was one of the triggers for massive protests in the country on July 11, the government has acknowledged.

However, Minister Marrero blamed the doctors for the situation, and the day before it emerged that the doctors who responded to his statements through a video were called by the Cuban State Security to intimidate them.
