A 31-year-old Cuban, identified as Armando Oliva-González, was arrested this Tuesday accused ofprostitute to a woman in a Coral Gables hotel, in theMiami-Dade County.
It all started when a detective arranged a“call home” through a website known for having advertisements that cover up the practice of prostitution and human trafficking.
The investigator sent a text message to a phone number listed on the ad and then drove to an undisclosed hotel on Ponce De Leon Boulevard in Coral Gables, where he met a 30-year-old woman in the facility's lobby. , according to the local press, citing the police report of the case as a source.
Authorities said the woman, later identified asGlendy Oliva-González, arrived in a black Cadillac SUV driven by Armando Oliva-González, and agreed to have sexual relations with the undercover detectivefor 300 dollars.
The undercover agent then gave the signal to retreat and Glendy Oliva-González was detained, according to authorities.
Police said her companion was detained before her by the “outside demolition team.” Both were taken to TGK prison.
Armando Oliva-González faces charges of obtaining income from prostitution and directing another person to a place of prostitution. It has not been revealed what charges Glendy Oliva-González faces.
Despite sharing the same last name, police did not confirm if the two are related.
It is not the first recent case that links Cubans to prostitution in Miami-Dade.
