The dizzying inflation and flour deficit in Cuba have caused the huge increase in the price of bread in the Cárdenas municipality, Matanzas province.

According to an Internet user identified on social networks asMayito River, a loaf of bread already costs 150 Cuban pesos, a price that increased on the same day of purchase at the same point of sale.

"Friends from the neighborhood, I'm probating with me, in the morning I buy this loaf of bread, 130 CUP and in the afternoon I buy another one and you know what? 150, and that's on the same day," wrote the Facebook user, where He also asked how much it would cost the next day if the price increased so much on the same day.

The comments of the forum members agreed that the cost of food has skyrocketed in the current crisis that does not seem to give Cubans any respite.

An Internet user said that not only bread, but also rice had reached 250 pesos per pound and beans are sold at a similar value.

Other people pointed out that the author of the post had been fortunate to obtain bread in some way, because some cannot even access the basic basket that is not being sold due to lack of flour, and even fewer canbuy at bakeries non-state where they are extremely expensive.

This weekend it was learned that on Saturdaythe few flour reserves were exhaustedof wheat to make bread, a situation that deprived a good part of the population of that food.

Cubans have been left without bread from the basic basket as a result of a shortage that has escalated to a critical point.

On Sunday, a ship from Europe docked at the port of Havana, transporting a load of 21 thousand tons of wheat, which will guarantee coverage for approximately 12 days, to satisfy the demand for bread in the country.

Although in some provinces wheat distribution began To resume bread production, Cuban wineries have not started selling this important component for snacks for children and the elderly.
