A police officer from the Provincial Traffic Unit of Havana captured a man who snatched a chain from a girl on the street.
As explained inFacebook the official profile Maximus Romus, linked to the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), the victim was at a bus stop when the thief took the garment from him, put it in his mouth and started to run.
Once arrested, the subject was transferred to the police unit located in the Capri neighborhood.
"The determining factor was the quick action of the agent and the support of the people," the note states.
Chains are one of the traditional favorite items of clothing for thieves to snatch from their victims.
On May 15 at dawn, a young man from Casilda, in Trinidad, wasseriously injured in an assault to remove his neck chains.
"He was assaulted by common criminals, a young man who, after brutally hitting him in the head and giving him several wounds with a knife, stole three chains that he was wearing," denounced the Cuban Institute for Freedom of Expression and Press (ICLEP).
The ICLEP also noted that the injuries received endangered the life of the victim, who was urgently transferred to the Camilo Cienfuegos Provincial Hospital in Sancti Spíritus.
