En Sancti Spíritus do not lose alone blackouts are a nuisance for the population, but because of the continuous power outages, people have also seen the quality of telephone and internet services in the province affected.

According to the official newspaper Escambray, the electricity deficit causes, among other problems, interruptions in the tone of landlines, delays in sending audio or videos by WhatsApp, the inability to connect to social networks and browse the Internet.

The solution to these problems seems not to be achieved in a short time because "all the equipment in the telecommunications system works with electrical energy and when this is missing, as there are not enough backup sources, interruptions and effects begin." recognized Gustavo Lopez Cruz, head of the Commercial Department in the Territorial Division of Etecsa in the Holy Spirit

According to the official's argument, "the telephone exchanges and radio bases in their entirety are designed to have a backup system for a limited time, for a brief impact of around four hours."

However, the duration of daily blackouts in Cuba can reach approximately six to eight hours, with even reported failures of up to 20 hours.

Cuba is experiencing a serious energy crisis that also affects the quality of landline telephone services, mobile data and Internet connection, increasing unrest among the population.

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Vicente de la O Levy, advertisement blackouts due to a deficit of up to 700 MW in October, in what he described as a situation that "is not going to be for life", in a clear attempt to console the hundreds of thousands of Cubans affected by the lack of electricity and, furthermore, by the severe shortages of basic products such as food and medicine.

This Wednesday, The Electrical Union of Cuba (UNE) recognized the increase in blackouts in the country in recent days due to a deficit in generation capacity.

By the end of September, The government began to implement contingency measures in the provinces, seeking to alleviate the energy deficit. In the territories of Villa Clara and Cienfuegos, government authorities announced the total or partial paralysis of non-basic services and productions, the adjustment of the working day and the establishment of schedules for the use of air conditioners, among other decisions.

Recently, The so-called accountability assemblies were suspended due to lack of fuel of the delegates of Popular Power, which would take place between October 15 and November 30.
