Cubans mobilize to help a young woman who lost everything due to a tornado in Artemisa

Cubans on the Internet are asking for help for a young woman who lost her home and all her belongings due to the tornado that hit the coastal town of Playa Baracoa on Thursday afternoon, in the province of Artemisa.

Erika Masiel Campbell, who resides in the La Loma town of the Bauta municipality, is undoubtedly one of the most affected by the phenomenon.

The Internet user Mel Herrera shared on his wall Facebook a video in which the girl's crying can be heard when she arrives at her home and finds a desolate panorama, without roof or walls and with almost all their belongings lost.

"At the time it happened, she was in La Lisa. She had gone out about an hour or two ago to see her grandmother. Her partner called her and told her to come back urgently. A tornado had destroyed her house," she said. .

"Although other homes around suffered damage to windows, roofs and doors, Erika's completely collapsed. Her roof, which was made of zinc tiles, does not know where the wind blew it. The architrave fell on top of the bed and He broke it in two. The door cracked and the windows burst. Very little has been left standing"he added.

The phenomenon occurred around 3:00 pm and lasted 20 minutes.

In the La Loma area, the strength and speed of the winds destroyed several houses and left their residents without homes or belongings.

They registered severe damage, mainly to roofs, doors and windows of homes and other buildings, and water tanks that flew from the decks.

Fortunately there were no deaths.
