Cuban painter Carlos Guzmán asks for help to save his daughter from cancer: "This is a tough test"

The plastic artist and his family urgently requested donations to pay for the chemotherapy treatment needed by the 17-year-old girl, Camelia Guzmán, who is suffering from a very aggressive cancer.

The Cuban painterCarlos Guzman He asked for urgent help to save his 17-year-old daughter,Camelia Guzmán Llanes, sick with avery aggressive cancer.

In messages on his social networks, the plastic artist - who resides in Panama - has launched an SOS to raise awareness among people to help withdonations that enableafford cancer treatment that afflicts his teenage daughter.

"HELP ME save my beautiful daughter, only 17 years old, from this terrible cancer.. Your donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. Blessings”, is the most recentmessage which he published on the social network Facebook.

“This is a hard test, too hard, but I have faith in God, in my friends and in the good will to help and save. There is nothing greater for a mother and father than seeing their children smile and watching them grow. That's why I'm going to fight for you, Camelia,” the grieving father wrote last Saturday.

In another publication that day, Guzmán confessed to his friends and followers that he had never in his life thought “to be in such a terrible situation and resort to everyone's help” and explained thatCamelia, her youngest daughter, “is battling a very aggressive cancer.” and after being operated on a month ago,urgently need chemotherapy treatment which is very expensive. This treatment needs to start this Monday. We can't waste time."

In both publications, Guzmán added the link to thepage ofGoFundMe opened by her other daughter, Carolina, requesting the support of all people to raise funds to cover the costs of Camelia's medical treatment.

“At this crucial time, we need everyone's support to help her get the necessary medical treatment. Every contribution, big or small, is a light of hope on your path. With your help, we will be able to provide my sister with the medical care she needs, allowing her to move forward with strength and determination,” the text on the page urges.

At the time of writing this note, more than 300 donations had been made for aamount greater than 17,000 dollars, of the $50,000 that the family needs to raise.

On his Instagram profile, the painter expressed his gratitude to all the people who have contributed to raising the necessary funds for his daughter's care.

“Thank you all very much, really, thank you for helping me. Together we are going to achieve it. Blessings to all,” he expressed.

Carlos Guzmán graduated in 1985 from the Paulita Concepción Elementary School of Plastic Arts and in 1989 from the “San Alejandro” Academy of Plastic Arts, in Havana, his hometown. He is an Art instructor and has worked as director of art galleries, teacher of drawing and illustration at elementary, polytechnic and university levels, and teacher of Costume Design at ISDI and ISA, in Cuba. He currently resides in Panama with his family.
