President of Iran receives Díaz-Canel in Tehran

Díaz-Canel assured that Cuba and Iran can establish higher collaboration goals for the scientific and social growth of both countries.

"This is a visit in which we give continuity to all the issues addressed during the Persian president's stay in Havana last June and to the debates held bilaterally in other forums," said Díaz-Canel after his arrival in Tehran.

The Cuban ruler was received byBahram Einollahi, Minister of Public Health and Medical Education of Iran.

The objective of the Cuban president in this visit is to strengthen and diversify collaborative relations with Iran, in the midst of a deep energy, economic, political and social crisis in Cuba.

Díaz-Canel said he felt very honored this Monday, when he was received by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran,Gran Ayatola Seyed Ali Jamenei, and recalled that 22 years ago there was an official visit by Fidel Castro to Tehran.

The Cuban leader pointed out that Cuba is interested in strengthening its relations with this Middle Eastern territory, and that he trusts that they will be able to establish higher goals for the scientific and social growth of both countries.

After the official talks, the Cuban delegation signed more than six cooperation agreements in Iran to "take advantage of the creative potential and talent of both peoples," according to the quote.Latin Press.

"The energy, agri-food and health spheres are identified as having great potential to strengthen economic and commercial ties with Iran," said the Cuban president in X.

Díaz-Canel took advantage of his visit to reaffirm his position against Israel and in favor of the Palestinian people, while ensuring that a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is necessary.

The Cuban leaderbegan his tour of the Middle East at the end of November. The program included participation in the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP) on climate change, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Cuban regime rented a plane from the Spanish company Plus Ultra for the tour of the president, who is traveling accompanied by his wife and a delegation of diplomats and officials. It is estimated that the cost for private use may be 11 thousand dollars per hour.

Last week Díaz-Canel offered business in Cuba to Arab businessmen with whom he met in the UAE. He considers that he had a "profitable exchange" with them, but so far it has not been revealed which areas of the Cuban economy would be where these powerful investors would participate.
