Cuban woman's suitcases stolen during car trip from Havana to Pinar del Río

A Cuban woman reported on social media that she had been the victim of her luggage being stolen on Monday, February 12, while she was traveling from Havana to Pinar del Río in a private vehicle that she shared with other passengers.

Internet user Patricia del Llano explained that that day she left from the Havana bus terminal and claims that another passenger, who also got on like her from that place, got off at the Ova bridge and carried luggage that did not belong to her. .

"He stole my two suitcases, a black briefcase and the same black suitcase", the complainant complained in the Facebook group "Ventas Entronque de Ova."

He explained that the person who allegedly carried what was not his wasa woman in her 60s who was wearing a blue and gray lycra and had black hair.

"I hope someone can recognize her and make her understand that she took things that are not hers," concluded the complainant, who shared a photo of the vehicle she was traveling in when the theft occurred, a yellow truck with a luggage rack on top. .

At the time of writing, no other details about the incident have emerged. It is not clear how many passengers were traveling in the vehicle or why the complainant did not notice it at the time of the robbery.

In recent months, coinciding with the increase in all forms of crime in Cuba, several Cubans have reported the theft of their luggage while traveling by road on the island.

In one of these cases, in July of last year, a student from the University of Cienfuegos reported thetheft of his suitcase while it was being transported aboard a truck bound for Santa Clara.

In that case, the truck thieves got out of the vehicle on the Ranchuelo bridge and loaded them with other people's belongings.

"If they see my suitcase or attempts to sell it, they know it is stolen, and well, all my clothes and belongings that I needed at my university were there," lamented the young woman.

Other complaints related to luggage theft have been made by people recently arrived from abroad whohave been victims of theft on the stretch of road that goes to the Airport José Martí International to the center of the capital.
