A Cuban migrant was found dead at dawn this Saturday on a highway in Oaxaca, Mexican authorities reported.
The authorities of Asunción Nochixtlán said that the woman was found at kilometer 174 of the Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca highway, the news portal reported. Mixtec Pen Online.
Passersby passing by the area notified the police, who immediately arrived at the scene.
The deceased was found on the side of the road, among the dry grass, in an area where pedestrians usually pass.
According to the media, the victim was identified as a Cuban woman, and was wearing a red sweater and black sports pants with white stripes.
The police and the Regional Deputy Prosecutor's Office carried out the corresponding procedures to remove the body.
According to initial investigations, the woman apparently died of bronchoaspiration.
Local authorities will continue investigating the details of the incident, which is part of the Cuban immigration crisis, where thousands of people have escaped from the island and are transiting through Mexico in search of the US border.
