At 57 years old, the CubanThis Saturday, Erick Hernández Sánchez broke a new Guinness World Record in ball control by spending 12 hours, 6 minutes and 10 seconds hitting a soccer ball with his feet.
At the Copacabana hotel in Havana, Hernández Sánchez broke the personal record of 12 hours held by theIranian Saeid Momivand, according to a report from the digital portalJIT.
“This record demands very rigorous preparation and tremendous discipline with training. In reality, the work to achieve this begins a long time before those 12 hours: it requires much more preparation,” the former soccer player told the aforementioned media.
"The Dominator", as he is known among followers of that sporting specialty, was with the ball suspended from morning until late at night, only touched by his feet.
In a video shared by the Cristal beer Instagram account, it is seen how Erick ended the test exhausted, to the point that he required assistance to sit on the floor.

At the Mystique Habana luxury hotel, Hernández Sánchez beat his personal goal, in front of a team of experts who endorsed the feat.
In 2022, he did it twice.The first, after hitting the ball with the head 351 times for one minute, and thus surpass the previous mark by ten touches, established by the ChineseGao Chong.
The other, in October of the same year,by hitting the ball with your head for one hour, nine minutes and 59 seconds, with a weight of 1.5 kilograms on each ankle.
With that time he surpassed his ownpersonal best for July 2020 when he managed to deliver blows with his head for one hour, five minutes and six seconds.
Erick Hernandez Sanchez (Havana, 1966) began playing sports as a child and his forays into soccer led him to become interested in controlling the ball.
The athlete has demonstrated the ability to touch the round with almost all parts of the body, achieving mastery marks with the thighs, knees, feet, head, running the 100 meters and the marathon.
It entered the Guinness Book for the first time in 2005., for touching the ball 319 times during one minute with his head.
