Russian Attorney General Igor Krasnov visits Havana for bilateral talks

The attorneys general of Cuba and Russia held a first official exchange.


Igor Krasnov, attorney general of Russia, arrived in Havana this Monday to participate in a round of bilateral talks withYamila Peña Ojeda, its counterpart on the Caribbean island.

TheAttorney General's Office of the Republic of Cuba reported on the official exchange that took place on April 16 and assured that it was planned as part of the visit carried out by the Russian delegation.

Themeeting agenda between the prosecutors and their work teams, has not been shared with the official media, in either country.

Krasnov He also met this Tuesday with the Cuban leaderMiguel Diaz-Canel, who described the visit of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation as a meeting of "deep significance, an expression of the excellent relations between the two governments and peoples."

In February he visited HavanaRussian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who reaffirmed the regime as the main ally of the Slavic country in Latin America.

"Cuba is our traditional partner, our most important ally in Latin America and the Caribbean. We are satisfied with the very constructive and intense nature of the Russian-Cuban political dialogue at all levels," said Lavrov, after meeting with his counterpart,Bruno Rodriguez Grill.
