A Cuban mother who is so poor that she has to go with her daughter to collect garbage in a landfill in Havana, received help from supportive people who were moved by her situation.
The user of Facebook Yaimara Quesada Guillén announced the case of the woman seeing her with her little girl digging in the trash, which generated a small solidarity campaign in favor of mother and daughter.
This Wednesday, Yaimara visited them and brought them some clothes, shoes and candy for the girl.
"My thanks to the moms of the Realizing Dreams support group. Today we visited the mom with her daughter, it is hard to know and see the conditions that she lives with her baby, if it could be said that way. I strongly ask please, how can we cooperate..." she said in the Facebook group "Cuban mothers for a better world."
In the publication, he also shared several videos showing the conditions of extreme poverty in which the mother and her two-year-old daughter survive in the Zamora neighborhood, Marianao municipality.
"Let's see what we can do to help her, [with] even a cold, some casseroles or something..." said Yaimara, who published her card number to raise money.
For her part, the girl's mother expressed that what she needs most is a pressure cooker to soften the grains.
In the comments section, several members of the group were willing to collaborate.
In March of last year, the firm DatoWorld, a renowned international electoral observatory, cataloged Cuba as the poorest country in Latin America.
At that time, the country had a 72% poverty rate, which placed it ahead of Venezuela and Honduras, which came in second and third place, respectively.
