The death of a young Cuban mother in a traffic accident in Bartolomé Masó, Granma, has caused deep consternation among her loved ones, as evidenced by several messages posted on social media in recent days and hundreds of comments.

The young woman, known as "Eliza" and mother of a young girl, reportedly passed away earlier this week as a result of a car accident, as confirmed by a cousin of the victim.

"My precious girl. You have no idea the immense pain you have left us with your departure. It goes without saying that I already miss you a lot. You are and will always be my beloved little sister. Rest in peace, my queen," wrote Tati Reyes on Facebook.

My girl, a little kiss up to the sky. Since you are the brightest star. May the Lord have you in his immense Glory (26th birthday), Reyes wrote in a more recent post.

Until the closing of this report, no other details have emerged regarding the tragic incident that ended the young woman's life.

The tragic news emerges just hours after the death of a young police officer in a traffic accident in the municipality of Mayarí, in the province of Holguín, was reported earlier this week.

In this case, the premature physical disappearance of the young man, identified as Maikel Céspedes Babastro, also caused deep dismay and sorrow among his friends and coworkers.

Accidents of all kinds show no mercy on Cuban roads since the beginning of the year, following the same trend that was already set in 2023.

Last year, 729 people lost their lives in Cuba as a result of traffic accidents. Authorities recorded 8,556 road accidents that left 5,938 injured. Human error was responsible for 91% of these incidents, authorities stated.
