Amanda and her beautiful reality in Spain

"Amanda is the most beautiful reality that could have happened to all of us who helped her be where she is today," said activist Lara Crofs.

A new video of the Cuban girl Amanda Lemus Ortiz was shared this Sunday by the activist Yamilka Laffita (known as Lara Crofs), which shows how much the little girl has improved since undergoing a liver transplant in Spain.

In the recording, the girl is lying face down on her bed at La Paz Hospital in Madrid, while she appears to be watching a cartoon attentively.

"Amanda is the most beautiful reality that has happened to all of us who helped her to be where she is today," Lara expressed on her Facebook wall.

In just one hour, the post has received more than 100 comments from people who admire the girl's progress, wishing her blessings and continued success.

"Ohhhhhh, that tender little gaze. For many years, I worked in child care in intensive therapy. That was my greatest joy, the tender gaze of the children and their beautiful smile. That was already telling me, among other things, how everything was going. Amanda is a true warrior," said Maritza Núñez from Havana.

"God bless her, so beautiful, she's like a different girl since she left this hell," another internet user stated.

"It's another little girl we saw leaving Cuba almost dying, it's very satisfying because we contributed to it," a third person rejoiced.

Shared joy. I wish to have people like Lara and all the good beings who shine from the soul in my life," emphasized radio host Yunior Morales from Miami.

"I believe that Amanda has become that little light of hope that shows the Cuban people that not everything is lost, we just have to come together to achieve what seems impossible," said another Cuban in Chile.

Despite the physical deterioration she had when she arrived in Spain due to the time lost by doctors in Cuba, the little girl has been progressing more and more each day since she underwent surgery on March 15th.

This week Lara Crofs shared two photos showing her incredible recovery, after the Cuban healthcare system practically abandoned her to her fate.

"Amanda in Cuba and Amanda in Spain after the operation," the activist expressed when thanking everyone who collaborated in the campaign to get the girl out of Cuba.

Almost three months after undergoing the transplant, the progress is evident.

"Improving more and more every day, beautiful, she laughs a lot, something she didn't do before," Lara revealed on Wednesday.

During this time, the little girl has had several relapses. She had to return to the operating room last May 27 for a new procedure in which doctors placed a catheter with drainage and a stent in the bile duct, which was dilating.

The dilation of the duct is due to the amount of antibiotic the girl continues to be subjected to, because of resistant bacteria she contracted while in Cuba," the activist explained.

At the beginning of next week, Amanda will undergo a contrast test to see how the duct is working from the catheter.
