The Cuban elderly man Iván Luis López Sera, who had been reported missing for over a week in Holguín, was found alive, although he has not yet been able to be taken home.

The journalist Jesús Arencibia Lorenzo shared on his Facebook wall the news that López Sera, affectionately known as "Cañón", is safe and that nothing bad happened to him.

"He hasn't been able to be rescued by his sister, but it reassures us to know that no tragedy has befallen him. His mind is not well, and he has decided to spend some time on the streets of Holguín," revealed the internet user Zoila Nieves Molina Pupo.

"If you see him, please help him," he asked.

Cañón, who is 76 years old, left his house without any identification over a week ago.

His family describes him as a man "wheatish complexion, short in stature, with vitiligo, limps on the left leg, has a depressed scar on the left thigh, and a right inguinal hernia".

Any help or information from whoever sees it, can call 53390960.

The actor Nevalis Quintana Fernández recalled that he was a friend of Cañón from the gatherings of the now-defunct section Clever Key of the newspaper Juventud Rebelde.

Wandering keyboard player, witty and folksy talker, wandering spirit of plains and mountains, with a huge heart, he has recently endured the wear and illnesses of his 76 years, as stated in an emotional Facebook post.

He added that the elderly man always carried a "wooden suitcase loaded with magical illusions," and wrote that relatives and friends were desperately looking for him.
