An accident between a police car and a motorcycle leaves one person seriously injured in Santiago de Cuba.

A young motorcyclist from Santiago de Cuba has undergone emergency surgery after colliding with a police Operational Guard vehicle.


A traffic accident occurred in Cuabitas, Santiago de Cuba, when a young motorcyclist collided with a car from the Operative Guard of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR).

Eyewitnesses informed the independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada that the motorcyclist was speeding, and after the collision, he was left lying on the street, bleeding from his head.

The police officer who was driving the official vehicle appeared nervous and shocked, to the point that passersby had to intervene to calm him down.

"The police officer put his hands on his head and only asked if the young man was alive," a witness to the incident recounted. The impact was so strong that the motorcycle broke in two, with the vehicle's handlebars embedded under the car.

The victim of the accident has been identified as Emilio González Zayas, 27 years old.

After the accident, the young man was urgently transferred to the Provincial Hospital Saturnino Lora, where he underwent surgery to remove a blood clot in his head caused by the blows.

Family members reported that the operation was successful and that the young man is in stable condition. "He is a noble and kind-hearted boy, God will help him," said a close relative.

The community has been summoned to come together in a prayer chain for the swift recovery of González Zayas and for the safety of all Cuban drivers.
