Three young promising Cuban baseball players recently left the country headed to the Dominican Republic in search of a contract with a Major League organization, as confirmed by sports journalist Francys Romero.

They were Chamil Ramírez, 14 years old; Sandor Córdova and Christopher Tamayo, both 16 years old, and among the best in the under-15 category during the year 2023, Romero pointed out.

Ramírez, who is a pitcher, described him as "one of the most interesting players in this group."

As a member of the La Habana team, he recorded a 5-0 record, 1.91 ERA, and 21 strikeouts in the National Championship of his category.

In his resume, he has an opening of 6 innings, 1 hit, 0 runs, and 5 strikeouts in the final phase of the Cuban Championship.

Additionally, he valued the fastball that the young player has between 82-83 mph, "with a wide arsenal to develop 4 pitches above average and become a starting pitcher."

On the other hand, catcher Sandor Córdova "has solid tools such as command of the strike zone, excellent arm, and power in his bat. The swing is quite fluid, generating power and volume of hits," Romero mentioned.

The shortstop Christopher Tamayo, hailing from the Artemisa province, "displayed a remarkable offensive line of .322/.438/.414 with 2 doubles, 3 triples, and 15 stolen bases in the 2023 Under-15 National Championship," as reported by the journalist.

The three young people will be training at Wellington Herrera's Academy. Due to their age, Córdova and Tamayo may be eligible in the current signing period, which ends on December 15th.
