A Cuban grandmother is asking for help to find the man who was her boyfriend in her youth and whom she considers the love of her life.

Sara Rodríguez, a resident of Miami who is originally from Sancti Spíritus, is the granddaughter of the elderly woman, and turned to social media to locate the gentleman.

"This man was my grandmother's youthful love, he should be 86 years old today and it has been over 65 years since she has heard from him. We would like to at least find some of his relatives to know what became of his life," the woman said on her Facebook.

The gentleman's name is Humberto Cowley and he is a native of Guanabacoa, Havana. Sara shared a photo of him with his grandmother in which neither of them would be over 20 years old.

P.S.: "We promise that if you are married, there will be no divorce..." he joked.

Social media has helped many people to find family members who have been separated for a long time.

In March, a Cuban father living in Miami requested help to find his two daughters, whom he has not seen since 1980.

The elderly man is named Miguel Ramos and his daughters are Laura Ramos Ibarra, born in 1974, and Eva María Ramos Ibarra, born a year later, at 5702 Calle 106 between 57 and 59, Marianao, Havana.

The search of a woman from the Czech Republic for her Cuban father, apparently residing in the province of Holguín, had a happy ending, after thirty years without any contact.

The request, posted in the Facebook group "Holguín & more," caught the attention of several people who helped to put the father and daughter in contact.

Another case was that of a Cuban woman searching for her mother, who put her up for adoption at seven months old before leaving the island during the Mariel boatlift in 1980.

The family is searching for Lidia María Chirino Hernández, who is originally from Villa Clara and used to live in Matanzas before leaving the country. Her daughter was seven months old at the time and her name was Leticia Chirino Hernández.

Last August, Cuban-American Ana Hernández asked for help to locate her father in Cuba, of whom she only knew his name - Armando Ruiz Regueira - since her mother, Caridad Aguiar Renovales, emigrated to the United States in 1966 while pregnant with her.
