The bone remains of a man who disappeared over 20 years ago are believed to have been found during construction work in a closet of a house in Artemisa, as several reports on social media indicate.
The macabre discovery would have taken place in a house on 29th Street, in front of the Tomás Romay polyclinic, in the Zayas neighborhood of the main municipality of the province of Artemisa.
According to the testimony circulating on social media, the skeletal remains were discovered while some builders were making repairs at the base of an old closet.
The victim has been identified as Jorge López -known as "Pepín"- and would have been allegedly murdered by his eldest son.
Jorgito's confession, the oldest of the brothers and (confessed murderer), revealed the way in which he carried out the crime, dismembered his head from the body, and then buried it, as stated in the text published in the Denouncing Crimes in Cuba group.
Meanwhile, Elvis, the youngest of the children, waited each day without knowing that his brother had killed their father and "that his remains lay in their own home," the publication concludes.
The event has generated dozens of comments of astonishment from internet users who refuse to believe such a horrendous fact.
However, several commentators have stated that it is true and that there has been a police and forensics presence in the area.
One must have dark feelings to do that to a family member. And to live for 21 years with that guilt. How horrifying!" wrote an internet user.
"Jesus, how terrible, what coldness from that person. To kill their father and bury him in their own home as if nothing! Certainly, there is immense evil in the human being, that is sad and painful. May God have mercy on us," another one pointed out.
The neighbors in the area comment that it could be a man who was a merchant marine and had disappeared without a trace.
As of the closing of this note, official media outlets have not echoed the incident.
