A woman was seriously injured after being involved in a traffic accident while riding the Suzuki motorcycle in the city of Santiago de Cuba.
The incident involved the motorcycle and a classic car at the intersection of Calvario and San Francisco streets, right in the center of Santiago de Cuba, said the independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada.
According to sources mentioned to the journalist, the accident occurred because the shared taxi did not respect the red traffic light signal.
According to the sources, only the driver and a woman were on the motorcycle. "The man only suffered scratches, but the woman broke her arm and was badly injured," they added.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital unit, although they did not specify which one.
In the circulated images, some witnesses can be seen, as well as the motorcycle under the front part of the almendrón.
In the comments section, several people expressed concern about the high number of accidents that occur at that intersection.
I'm a driver too and I recognize that there are a bunch of crazy people, with and without licenses, who live abusing their luck. Not only in San Francisco, it's at all intersections that precautions must be taken," wrote a user.
An internet user added: "On this street, San Francisco Street has the most accidents in Santiago de Cuba... with traffic lights anyway... there are always accidents."
An internet user gave advice to drivers. "It's a super problematic intersection and drivers know it, be aware and take better care of your life," she stated.
In the morning hours of this Monday, a motorcyclist died on Boyeros Avenue in Havana, as revealed by a witness on social media.
According to the testimony of a close acquaintance of the victim, the deceased man was a family man.
