The caretaker of a notary office in the city of Santiago de Cuba was allegedly murdered, as confirmed in recent hours by various reports from neighbors and people close to the victim.

It was the journalist Yosmany Mayeta who revealed that the man "had been found dead" at the notary located on San Pedro street (between San Basilio and Santa Lucía), and was asking for information about the case.

In the comments section of their post - which has gathered over 400 responses so far - dozens of people confirmed the violent death of a security guard named "Miguel," a man who was very beloved judging by the numerous expressions of shock and sorrow over the news.

"They hit him on the head until he died. The Forensic Department and the Technical Investigation Department were there. They went to the surrounding businesses asking and seeking information, locating cameras. 'Just a heart attack' does not cause such a revolution," pointed out a commentator in response to those who asked for waiting for details of what happened and confirming whether it was a natural or violent death.

Other internet users agreed in pointing out that the security guard was murdered and found naked.

Regarding the alleged motive for the crime, several point to a robbery.

"They killed him, they say, for taking a hard drive. How little the life of a human being is worth!" noted a commentator, triggering some conspiratorial reactions.

There is something in that hard drive that someone needed... Because to take a hard drive I take a computer... They don't even know how to do things," another woman pointed out.

So far, there is no clear information about what happened, why someone targeted a father working in a place as unlikely for a robbery as a notary, assuming that was actually the motive for the crime.

"If he had been the security guard of an MLC store to steal, but a notary?" questioned one of the many commentators.

In the meantime, there are many expressions of grief on social media over the death of the security guard Miguel, who apparently lived on San Basilio Street and used to work as a mechanic before becoming a security guard.

"My neighbor Miguelito didn't deserve what happened to him. RIP. May God rest his soul, such a good and beloved man"; "I had the pleasure of meeting him, a good man and a friend. He helped me when I needed it the most, without any ulterior motives. May God have him by his side"; "Poor man"; "He was an excellent person," are some of the comments left by the sad news.

Many other comments have revolved around the worrying and excessive violence in Santiago de Cuba, a province that every day provides evidence on social media of all kinds of bad news, many of them about violent incidents.

It is not the first time in recent months that a guard has been attacked in a very central location in Santiago de Cuba.

At the end of May, a man who worked as a security guard for an SME located in the Santiago de Cuba Aquarium was seriously injured during a robbery at the establishment.

In that case, neighbors in the area indicated that the security guard, victim of the aggression, was found tied up and covered in blood.

This Thursday, following the murder of the security guard, a neighbor of the victim of that attack confirmed that she survived, but purely by a miracle.

Unfortunately, Miguel has not been as lucky.

Until the closing of this report, there are no other confirmed details about the crime.
