The Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, a 39-year-old man who is not only a politician but also an entrepreneur and writer, was chosen by the former president and current Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump as his running mate in the electoral ticket for the upcoming November 5th in the United States.
Trump, who over the weekend was the target of an attack during a political rally in Pennsylvania, made the announcement through the Truth Social network during the first day of the Republican Convention, which started this Monday in Milwaukee.
At this event, Trump's candidacy for the White House will be formalized.
"After long deliberations and reflections, and taking into account the enormous talent of many others, I have decided that the most suitable person to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance, from the great State of Ohio," stated Trump.
He highlighted his running mate's educational background, saying that "he graduated from Ohio State University and Yale Law School, where he was editor of The Yale Law Journal and president of the Yale Law Veterans Association."
During the campaign, he stated, he will strongly focus on the people he fought so brilliantly for, the American workers and farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and beyond.
However, about the current senator from Ohio, CNN recalls that 6 years ago he was a key voice in the (Never Trump) movement during the 2016 elections and has a well-documented history of public opposition to the former president.
However, currently, he has won the affection of the right wing of the Republican Party, including Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., who has had the Ohio Republican as a guest on his podcast and publicly praised him.
While in the Senate, Vance has been an outspoken supporter of Trump and frequently votes in loyalty to the interests of the former president.
