Four individuals assaulted and beat a young man to steal his motorcycle in the city of Las Tunas last Thursday.

The victim, Yordano Colón Ocampo, reported the robbery on social media, with photos of the stolen motorcycle and the injury on his back caused by the criminals with a pipe.

"On the night of the day before yesterday, at the same stop at Estadio Mella, I was coming from the village, and four guys came at me; they were hiding, came out of nowhere, hit me with a pipe, and took this scooter from me. Thank God I was able to come out alive," Colón explained in a post in the Facebook group "Sale of Scooters in Las Tunas."

The young man who was assaulted is offering a reward of 200 dollars to anyone who provides information about the whereabouts of the motorcycle, and he published a phone number for contacts.

The second objective of his post, he said, was to make it public that it was "a robbery with violence," while assuring: "Wherever I find a piece, I will charge that one."

The aggression and robbery suffered by the young man from Tunera are part of the wave of assaults on motorcyclists that has erupted in Cuba in recent years.

Recently, a family whose motorcycle was stolen in Havana had to take it upon themselves to search for the vehicle and go to the place where the thieves had it without police assistance.

According to the testimony, one of the criminals rented the motorcycle and upon arriving at the location where another person was waiting, they both attacked the driver, threatened him with a knife, and stole the motorcycle.

Thanks to the GPS, the owner was able to locate the vehicle at a house in La Güinera and recover it with the help of friends. The police eventually arrested two people involved in the theft, but shortly after, they were released, reported a person close to the affected family.

Cases like this occur daily in Cuba, with the victims being able to do little or nothing to prevent it, find the stolen motorcycle, and have the assailants prosecuted. Meanwhile, the population continues to criticize the ineffectiveness of the authorities in confronting the rising crime rates in recent years in the country.
