A TikTok video showing clothes hanging in a yard in Miami has sparked debate among Cubans.

A TikTok video showing clothes hanging on a patio in Miami has generated a wave of reactions among Cubans on social media, who have shared their opinions about this common practice on the island, which is not always well-received in the United States...

The video was shared by the user @yan_miami.fl and among the comments on the post, many expressed the nostalgia this Cuban custom brings them. "That’s how they feel they're in Cuba, the roots. Blessings," someone wrote.

In addition, other users commented: "Oh my God, Cuba has arrived in Miami," "My neighbors are American and they do the same thing, what they don't do is record other people's patios for fun," "I've seen it in Texas too. It's no big deal," "The best invention of humanity," "You can tell she's a newcomer, she said I'm going to wash and now what," "The best way to dry clothes," "Oh my God, Cuba has arrived in Miami," "I just don’t understand with this divine sun in Miami, why doesn't everyone do this," "They arrived at the courtyard," "100% Cuban," "Almost sure it was a newcomer with parole," or "Just arrived from Cuba."

Some shared their own experiences regarding this. "Tigre, my wife and I did it when we arrived for a long time because we couldn’t pay for laundry," confessed a user, highlighting the economic difficulties many newcomers face. However, not everyone has had good experiences drying their clothes: "Here in Miami I once did that, the police were called on me and I got fined," recounted another, pointing out the problems that can arise from adapting island customs to life in the United States.

The video has caused a stir among the Cuban community on TikTok, especially those in Miami, sparking a debate about this custom and practice that is so common on the island.
