Neighbors help put out a burning car on a street in Cuba.

The driver of the car was able to use his extinguisher to put out the fire.

The hood of a Peugeot 306 car, with state license plates, caught fire on the morning of this Thursday without any loss of human life or injuries, thanks to the quick actions of the driver and neighbors from the street where the incident took place.

In a video shared in the Facebook group "ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES por más experiencia y menos víctimas!", the driver of the car can be seen taking out a fire extinguisher and managing to control the fire.

In unison, neighbors helped with buckets of water to prevent flames from remaining inside the hood, which was difficult to open.

"My car once caught fire, and the first thing I did was open the hood and turn everything off," commented a user to emphasize that this action is fundamental if you want to fully extinguish the fire.

Other users observed that the driver had a fire extinguisher, equipment that greatly helped in preventing the fire from spreading.

"That's the importance of having a fire extinguisher," noted an internet user.

An opinion was added with the comment of another internet user saying that "the State should have a place where extinguishers are sold, because that was state-owned; if it happened with a private entity, there wouldn't be extinguishers because there would be nowhere to obtain them."

However, a user replied that they do exist, but in private businesses. "Yes, they exist because my husband bought one recently and to refill it, they take it to SEISA. Look it up on social media because they are available. My husband paid 2,000 (Cuban pesos) for it, and he bought it less than a month ago," she added.

Car fires in Cuba have proliferated in recent times. At the end of July, for example, a fire involving a Chevrolet was reported on a central corner of El Vedado, in Havana.

Days later, it was reported that the cause of this incident was a short circuit in the vehicle.

"I was in line to refuel and it suffered a short circuit and nothing could be done," said Heber Montes de Oca, apparently the driver of the vehicle.

On the National Highway, specifically in the section that crosses the province of Villa Clara, four people lost their lives, including a minor, due to the impact of the vehicle against a bridge and its subsequent fire.
