The young Cuban woman Kiara González, who was reported missing by her family, was found safe and sound after being mistakenly identified as the victim of a murder that occurred this week in Old Havana.

His cousin Alfredo Rodríguez Ramírez shared the good news on his Facebook profile, without giving any details.

"She has appeared safe and sound. Thank you all for your support and concern. It was very helpful that you shared her disappearance," she expressed.

On Saturday, Alfredo reported his cousin's absence from her home in a post where he clarified that the body found on Friday in a garbage tank in Old Havana was not hers, as was incorrectly reported on the Internet.

"But she is missing. The report has already been filed, but anyone who sees her, please call me at 54324610," she emphasized then.

This week there were two disappearances of young girls in Old Havana: Lianet Núñez Pérez, 20 years old and a resident of the Jesús María neighborhood, last seen on the night of Thursday, August 22, and Kiara González, 23 years old and mother of two children.

On Friday, the presumably dismembered body of a woman was found in a trash tank located on Habana Street between Luz and Acosta, in the same municipality.

According to information released by the independent portal CubaNet, neighbors in the area claimed that the victim was dismembered and that limbs (the arms) were missing.

Hours later, several users on social media reported that the victim of that horrific crime was Kiara, but that information was later denied when it was confirmed that the deceased was Lianet Núñez Pérez.

Several people had reported on Facebook the disappearance of Kiara and echoed the confusion surrounding the two girls.

Apparently, the misunderstanding arose because everything happened in Old Havana.
