Robbery with violence in Havana leaves a Cuban young man dead.

The young man was originally from the province of Ciego de Ávila and a resident of the Cuban capital.

A 30-year-old Cuban man was murdered last Friday in Havana during a violent robbery that has left a family in mourning and shocked friends and acquaintances.

Enmanuel Rosales, originally from the province of Ciego de Ávila and residing in the Cuban capital, was stabbed near the bus terminal located in Plaza de la Revolución while heading home to the town of Cojímar.

The young man worked at a hotel in El Vedado, according to some reports on social media, and the motive for the murder was the theft of his cellphone and money.

His body was laid to rest in a funeral home in Alamar, in East Havana.

The murder of Enmanuel has moved friends and acquaintances of the young man, who have expressed their shock and sadness at his loss.

One of his friends dedicated a tribute video in which he remembers Enmanuel in different facets of his life. “My friend and brother, this video is a see you soon, how I will miss your smile, those crazy audios, it’s not fair how they took the life of such a noble, such a supportive person, I hope the guilty suffer their punishment. It’s hard to believe, my people, how someone can be murdered over a disgusting phone and three pesos, and the guilty are still free on the streets, justice,” wrote the internet user Yasniel Rivera in several groups of people from Avila on Facebook.

"We are so sorry, all of us who watched him grow up and share in the pain of the Enmanuel family, rest in peace," commented a user.

Former classmates also expressed their sadness over the death of this young man.

"I am aware of what a good boy he was, we studied together, may God welcome him into His holy glory," asserted an internet user.

While another person pointed out that they couldn't believe it, since they had been friends since childhood. "Sad news about how they take the lives of such noble and simple people like Enmanuel, what Cuba is becoming."

"How much sadness and pain that such things happen to good people like Enmanuel, who was a great friend of mine and such a good person. My heartfelt condolences to his family; may God keep him in his holy glory, and may they quickly catch those responsible and give them the punishment they deserve," added another person.

The memories go back to his life in the Airport village, as many have mentioned, or to his time as a worker at Playa Pilar, in the hotels of the northern cays of Ciego de Ávila.

"My friend, it can't be true, such a good person that you were because life is so unfair to the best people, the only one who taught me, the only one who moved forward with me when no one else wanted to do it and when I needed it the most," remembered user Betty Laura in a post alongside a photo of the deceased.

The murder of Enmanuel increases the crime figures in Cuba and violent robberies on the island.

That Friday, a 21-year-old man named José Manuel Martínez was murdered in the town of San Germán, in the province of Holguín, with the intention of stealing his bicycle and phone.

His presumed killer, another young man with a criminal record, said he did it because "'I was desperate, I needed money and that kid passed by at that moment, he was in the wrong place.'"

Each of these events has prompted the population to call on the authorities to prevent deaths and the increase in violence.

However, although the regime tries to defend itself by putting its cyberclarias to contradict what independent media report, the reality is that the facts surpass the actions of its police, and the population on the island, in addition to the scarcity and lack of freedoms, also faces the fear of going out peacefully into the streets.
