Blackouts in Cuba: The UNE predicts high impact for this Friday.

On Thursday, the maximum impact was 803 MW, higher than the 720 MW forecasted. The service failed at 9:50 am and had not been restored by early Friday morning.

The Electric Union (UNE) of Cuba anticipated significant disruptions for this Friday, which would be a prelude to a blackout weekend.

According to the official report, the service was affected the day before due to a generation capacity deficit from 9:50 am, and it has not been able to be restored until this morning.

The maximum impact during peak hours was 803 MW at 10:50 PM, not coinciding with the peak hour. It was higher than the planned 720 MW due to a lack of fuel in the Melones tanker and a demand that was higher than expected.

This Friday, at 7:00 am, the availability of the SEN was 2300 MW and the demand was 2465 MW, with 204 MW affected. As the day progresses, the impact will increase, so during the peak hours it will reach 400 MW.

At peak hour, a capacity of 2428 MW is estimated with a maximum demand of 3180 MW, resulting in a deficit of 752 MW, with an impact of 822 MW.

At this moment, two units from the Rente and Felton thermoelectric plants are out of service due to malfunctions.

Additionally, 45 distributed generation plants and the Melones truck are not operating due to a lack of fuel, with a total of 395 MW affected.

The limitations in thermal generation are 586 MW.
