Accident in Santiago de Cuba: Passenger truck collides with a machine and flees the scene.

The truck driver fled after the driver of the almendrón pulled out a machete and challenged him. He let the passengers off and left without returning their money.


A passenger bus transporting mostly children and teenagers collided with a machine, after which it disembarked all the passengers and fled the scene.

The accident occurred on Monday in the area of Las Guásimas, on the Siboney road, in Santiago de Cuba.

According to what a witness told independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, the truck driver fled after the driver of the almendrón took out a machete and challenged him.

Mayeta shared photos and a video of the incident on her Facebook wall. The truck's license plate is clearly visible in the images: P240525.

On the truck were students from different educational levels and workers coming from their jobs. The driver had charged them 109 pesos for the full route and 20 if they went from one stop to another.

"They left without refunding our money, they brought everyone down because even the collector took out a machete and had a pipe," recounted one of the affected young women.
