The young Cuban pitcher Jan Ewing Cabrera is generating significant interest among several Major League Baseball organizations, to the point that around seven teams are considering negotiating a contract.

According to journalist Francys Romero on the social network Facebook, the native of Villa Clara will perform this Tuesday in a showcase for scouts at the Yuan Pino Academy, located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

This opportunity could be key for the young talent to showcase his skills and secure a future in professional baseball, the communicator stated.

Cabrera is a tall pitcher of just 19 years, with a consistent fastball over 90 miles, control of breaking pitches, good control, and qualities of a starter.

In November 2022, he joined the Cuba team in the under-18 pre-world tournament, although at that time he was the closer of the team. Similarly, he made his debut in the National Series.

As part of the unstoppable exodus of Cuban athletes, the baseball player legally left the island a few months ago, with the goal of securing a professional contract.
