The Cuban gardener Yoisnel Camejo decided not to return to Cuba after participating in the Barcelona Baseball Cup, which he attended as part of the "Cocodrilos" team from Matanzas.

The news was confirmed this Tuesday by the specialized media Cuba Grand Slam, and later verified by Swing Completo through sources close to the player.

Camejo, who was part of the "Cocodrilos" team from Matanzas, did not show up for the return flight to Cuba, both publications reported.

The Matanzas player has competed in six editions of the National Series of Cuban Baseball.

During his time in the last season in Cuba, Camejo stood out with a batting average of .329 in 50 games, accumulating 31 hits, including two home runs and five triples.

The Matanzas team had a disappointing performance in the Barcelona Baseball Cup, where they were eliminated before the final with only one victory in three games.

After the elimination, Camejo decided not to return to the island, an act that adds to the list of defections that regularly occur within the Cuban sports delegations participating in international competitions.
