A driver died after his car crashed into a guardrail on a highway in Matanzas and caught fire.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, on the central highway heading towards Perico, at the exit of the town of Sergio González (known as Tinguaro), in the municipality of Colón, Matanzas, the Provincial Government of the People's Power reported on Facebook.
The car collided with a side retaining wall, and after the impact, the vehicle caught fire.
The driver of the car, the only occupant, died at the scene of the accident.
Emergency teams, including members of the Ministry of the Interior, the Revolutionary National Police, experts, and the Fire Department, quickly arrived at the site to control the situation.
So far, the exact causes of the incident are unknown, and investigations are ongoing to clarify the details of the event.
