Hopeful message from Diana Rosa Suárez from a hospital in Guyana: "I will fight once again."

The popular actress sent a message that was shared by the journalist Julita Osendi.

The recognized Cuban actress Diana Rosa Suárez sent a message from the public hospital in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana, where she is being treated after suffering a heart attack last week.

"With the help of God and with the help of Maruja… who has been a source of support for me, accompanying me. I have to thank everyone for their concern, but well, I think I will overcome this once again," said the artist lying in the bed of the hospital facility, during a small recording shared by her personal friend journalist, Julita Osendi.

Last Saturday, September 28, the actress experienced severe chest pain in Havana and was taken to the Institute of Cardiology hospital. She was advised to be admitted, but she refused due to the impending flight to Guyana, Osendi reported days ago.

In the South American country, “she is being treated by Cuban and Guyanese doctors. The Cuban embassy has taken charge,” Julita added.

The diplomatic representation issued a note stating that the Cuban ambassador in Guyana, Jorge Francisco Soberón Luis, visited Diana Rosa and confirmed her good state of mind.

They reported that the actress is in stable condition and that the embassy will systematically monitor her progress.

In Guyana, in addition, local doctors confirmed that besides this heart attack, Diana Rosa had another one that would have occurred about three months ago and recommended a month of complete rest.

Diana Rosa Suárez, known for her iconic roles as "The Fox's Bride" and other memorable characters, was in Guyana to attend an appointment at the United States embassy in order to process a visa that would allow her to reunite with her grandchildren and nieces abroad.

On August 30, Diana Rosa Suárez celebrated her 80th birthday with a great party surrounded by friends and colleagues, such as Tahimí Alvariño, Paula Alí, Verónica Lynn, Néstor Jiménez, Mario Aguirre, Héctor Noas, Miriam Socarrás, and Gretel Cazón, as well as presenter Marino Luzardo and singers Beatriz Márquez and Héctor Tellez.

Diana Rosa was born in the neighborhood of Luyanó in Havana and is the grandmother of two granddaughters who live in the United States.
