El Yonki celebrates his birthday on October 12, which, as he acknowledged on his social media, "won't be like the others."
In an emotional message shared on Instagram, the Cuban reggaeton artist confessed that this "will be a very sad and very strong birthday," as it is the first one he spends without his mother, who passed away on May 23.
"I never thought I would go through this," he wrote alongside a photo of his childhood. "I love you, mom. I promise that I will be the best version of myself to fulfill all the promises I made to you," he added.
But the loss of his mother is not the only reason why El Yonki is going through a tough time. Just two days before his birthday, on October 10, his friend, the singer El Taiger, passed away after spending a week in critical condition due to a gunshot wound to the head.
In his Instagram stories, El Yonki reiterated the sadness of this new trip around the sun, remembering both his mother and his friend. “It’s my first birthday without my mom and without a friend,” he wrote, showing all the pain he carries inside.
In a previous video, the artist had explained to his followers that although his heart was broken, he had to fulfill a commitment in Houston that night, despite not feeling well emotionally. “This birthday for me will not be like the others; it will be a very sad and very tough birthday,” he said, thanking his fans for their support and promised he would try to give his best, although he admitted it would not be easy due to the circumstances.
Later in the stories, she showed part of the night lived with her audience and close ones.
Despite this difficult time, El Yonki has received an outpouring of love and support messages from his friends, colleagues, and followers on social media. From figures like Osmani García, who wished him "100 years of health, strength, and Ashe," to heartfelt messages from fans reminiscing about moments from his childhood with his mother, the comments have kept coming. "Stay strong, my life, blessings," wrote one; "Your mom is proud of you wherever she is," shared another; "You have to keep going, she wants to see you happy," reminded another.
Her partner and manager, Ani Dieppa, also dedicated very special words to him on Instagram for his 34th birthday, describing him as her "king," "companion," and "future husband."
"My beautiful child, may you have many more years filled with love and joy. I love you, happy birthday," she wrote on her profile, encouraging everyone to shower him with congratulations.
