This Tuesday saw the release of the music video for "Santa," the song that El Yonki dedicated to his mom and which was premiered last week, on the very day she would have had her birthday.
The audiovisual was supposed to premiere on August 3, but the singer apologized on his Instagram because the feelings that overwhelmed him following his mother's passing prevented it.
"Today at 12 the video of the song I made for my mom will be available on my YouTube channel. I apologize, but I didn't have the strength and my heart is in pieces. Thank you all for the encouraging messages and the support you have given me in this great pain; without a doubt, you are my new family," wrote El Yonki in his post.
The audiovisual is extremely moving, not only because the song itself starts with the last voice messages exchanged between mother and son and sums up all the longing and sadness after her loss, but also because it features many photos of El Yonki with his mother from when he was little until his last days.
The music video also includes snippets of El Yonki's visits to Cuba, the hugs he always received from his mom, happy to see him again, and the moment when the reggaeton artist had to say goodbye to her after her death last May.
