Pasquale Stefano Mella, a 94-year-old Sicilian, has shocked the audience of the Italian television program Chi l'ha Visto? by sharing his desperate search for his Cuban wife, named "Niurka."

The story, which mixes love, deceit, and an expensive trip, has captured the attention of several Italian media outlets that deal with matters of the heart.

The meeting and the wedding

Stefano met Niurka, a 54-year-old Cuban, while he was in Africa.

It was Stefano's own son, a resident of Berlin, who introduced him to the woman, who was his partner's cousin.

Just three days after meeting, Stefano and Niurka decided to get married. Although the relationship seemed promising, Stefano soon realized that Niurka was not in love with him.

Two months after the wedding, Niurka asked Stefano to finance a trip to Berlin to visit her cousin. Despite the doubts, Stefano agreed and covered all the expenses.

However, upon returning to Italy, Niurka only stayed for a few days before announcing that she would go to Cuba.

"I spent 15 thousand euros on his trip," he commented sadly.

Despite the problems and the coldness he was starting to perceive, Stefano still felt a strong affection for Niurka and hoped for her return.

However, Niurka never returned to Italy. Stefano, worried about her disappearance, tried to file a report with the Carabinieri, but the authorities determined that it was not an abduction, as the woman had left Italy voluntarily.

In light of this situation, Stefano decided to turn to the television program Chi l'ha Visto?, known for its work in the search for missing persons.

Despite the pain caused by his wife's abandonment, Stefano says he is willing to forgive her and welcome her back if she decides to reach out.

However, after weeks without news, the elderly man decided to do something even more unusual: to use his appearance on the show to make a public appeal in search of a new partner.

"I want to have someone by my side. I have already turned 94 years old, so if a single, divorced, or widowed woman is interested, she can come and stay with me," declared the nonagenarian elder.

Stefano's television past

What has surprised the public even more is Stefano Mella's television past.

Before his appearance on Chi l'ha Visto?, Stefano had already participated in other television programs such as Uomini e Donne and C'è Posta per Te. This means that for several years he sought a partner through television without great results.

His case has generated sympathy and amazement on Italian television, not only because of his willingness to accept his Cuban wife back if she returns, but also because of his insistence on finding companionship in his last years of life.

Although he has started the legal separation process, Stefano does not lose hope that his Cuban wife will return one day.

Meanwhile, her public call has led to a new romantic search, this time in front of millions of viewers.
